Knitter Logic FAIL

Knitter Logic Fail

As you can see, I ran out of yarn before I ran out of stitches to bind off. Knitting faster didn’t work nearly as well as I’d hoped. Sigh. Short of ripping back and reworking the repeats, there’s not much I can do. I’m a little annoyed because, according to the ball band, I should have had more than enough yarn to finish. Oh, well. Eventually this yarn will become something else.

Since I’m more about the process than the finished item, I’ve decided to focus my energy on these lovely skeins of yarn that arrived from Amy at Canon Hand Dyes last week. They’re from her Downton Abbey-inspired collection and I just adore each of them.

First up is Matthew — with Mary peeking out from behind. And matching stitch markers!

And then there is Carson, with Mrs. Hughes in front.

This yarn is all perfect for socks (and the Carson colourway is destined to become socks for Todd) but I’m not sure I want to hide these in my shoes. I may have to search out some scarf or cowl patterns to better show them off.

In the meantime, I’m taking a break from work to catch up on Episode 3 of Downton Abbey’s new season. So looking forward to Edith’s wedding! (Poor Edith. She’s so misunderstood.)

Those are beautiful colours!! I plan to check out this Downton Abbey craze once my sister is done with the first season. Very curious. Too bad you didn’t have enough yarn. The stitches are so delicate and it looks like you put a lot of work into ti.
