Resolutions for 2013

Happy New Year! I’m beginning to feel somewhat human again and have been thinking today about all the things I want to accomplish this year. In no particular order:

  • Improve my Korean skills. I say this every year but when push comes to shove, this usually falls off my to-do list. I’ve got a membership to KoreanClass101 and I’m hoping that Adam and I can spend some time working on our Korean together.
  • Run a 10K race. My running plan came to a rather abrupt end this summer when I twisted my ankle — and after taking a month-long hiatus, I just couldn’t seem to get back into it. This year, though, as soon as the ice on the sidewalk melts, I’m going to start running again. Even if it means that I’m starting over from scratch.
  • Get enough sleep. As my family will tell you, I’m really cranky when I don’t get enough sleep. I’m also a morning person so I tend to be an early riser even when I stay up later than I should. To that end, I need to start going to sleep earlier — I’m aiming to be in bed by 10 p.m. on school nights so that I can get eight hours of sleep on a regular basis. My family will thank me for it.
  • Practise balance. Whether it’s work/family, healthy choices/indulgences or anything else that crosses my path this year, I’m planning to step back from my usual All or Nothing approach and insert a little more equilibrium in my life. (Case in point: this morning I chugged my very virtuous breakfast smoothie before I brewed a pot of coffee. It’s all about balance!)

Wishing each of you all the best in 2013! This year is going to be amazing. I can tell.

Happy New Year, and this is a great list – balance is one I always have to work at too, and I suspect that will remain :) I hope your 2013 brings lots of good things.

Yay for balance! Great goal. All the best with your other goals and looking forward to hearing about your progress.

Great goals!! I want to work on my Korean too… but I’m hoping that naturally happens with TaeKwonDo and preparing to travel. (Yeah, right!)
